The Environmental Priorities Coalition—an organization comprised of special interest groups including FUSE, Washington Conservation Voters and Sierra Club Washington—is expected to make a strong showing at Sen. Andy Hill and Reps. Larry Springer and Roger Goodman’s in-district legislative town hall tomorrow. Given the lack of decorum shown by special interest groups in the past, the KCGOP feels it necessary to issue a reminder that a legislative town hall meeting—similar to a high school graduation ceremony—does not serve as an opportunity to take cheap political shots.
Last summer, the SEIU used Woodinville High School’s graduation ceremony to level an attack on Sen. Andy Hill. Members of the SEIU handed deceptive “programs” to friends and family there to celebrate the achievement of the graduates. Attendants who opened the fake programs found a political attack advertisement along with Hill’s personal cell phone number. The KCGOP hopes special interest groups will refrain from similar disruptive behavior tomorrow and allow constituents the opportunity to voice their concerns to their legislators without interruption.
