Bellevue, WA – With just two months until the August primary, Mark Miloscia’s opponent for state Senate in the 30th Legislative District has yet to show any significant support from voters in her new home district. Democrat Shari Song raised $24,729 as of May 25. Setting aside contributions made from her household, donations from residents of the 30th LD amount to $50, or approximately .2% of her total financial support.

King County Republican Party Chair Lori Sotelo released the following statement,

“Shari Song’s very low in-district donations points to a lack of support from the communities she seeks to represent. Song recently moved to Federal Way from Bellevue with the sole intention of filing as a candidate for state Senate in the district’s open seat after losing her 2013 bid for King County Council. It appears that residents of the 30th LD have caught on to Song’s singular motivation. They prefer a candidate who will look out for their district’s interests in Olympia, not a candidate attempting to launch a political career at their expense.”
