Earlier this week, the Washington Supreme Court ruled unanimously in favor of the King County Republican Central Committee. The Supreme Court ruled that a Washington law requiring political parties to elect district chairs rather than appoint them is unconstitutional. According to the Associated Press, “… the law violates the political parties’ First Amendment right to freedom of association.” This is the fourth time the King County Republican Party has defended our association rights on this topic to the Supreme Court…and won.
