This past weekend, the Washington State Republican Central Committee convened at Skamania Lodge in Stevenson, Washington, in order to organize for the 2015-2016 Political Term. The purpose of this meeting was to elect the Chairman of the Washington State Republicans, as well as to approve our WSRP Bylaws, in addition to other business to allow our party to begin the term. The King County Republican Party sends three elected members, as does each Republican County Party in Washington State, to represent them in the process. Your King County Representatives are Chairman Lori Sotelo, State Committeeman Mathew Patrick Thomas and State Committeewoman Darlene Hamilton. It was a very productive weekend.
One of the highlights was the election of the WSRP Chairman. Much has been accomplished in the WSRP over the last successful year. Our State Committeeman Thomas was selected to give Susan Hutchison’s nomination speech. The King County Republican Party was pleased to cast all three of our votes to re-elect Susan Hutchison to serve the next term. The election was by acclamation, as there was only one nominee. Congratulations to Chairman Hutchison!
You may have heard that Chairman Reince Priebus was re-elected to serve a third term last week at the Republican National Committee meeting in San Diego. The vote, 166 to 2, was a testament to the respect Chairman Priebus has garnered and the strong leadership he has demonstrated as head of the Republican National Committee. Our Washington Republican Committee representatives are Chairman Susan Hutchison, RNC Committeeman Jeff Kent and RNC Committeewoman Fredi Simpson.
From your neighborhood to Washington DC, our party is now organized and ready for work!
Lori Sotelo, Chairman
King County Republican Party
